Well it seems so much has happened in this short time. This morning church began just after 8. What an incredible experience. You have something to experience if you have not heard the fast paced, completely unhindered, genuine worship that is the Haitian church. After the service, we spent some time testing out our make-shift Creole. The children made us all feel so special as we were welcomed with many smiles. After lunch, Hervier (the Haitian man who oversees Mission Possible in Haiti) gave us his life story. We all experienced something very rare, passion. Seeing one of M.P.'s schools clincs yesterday, combined with the passion and dreams of this man, brings hope of the future. One of the dreams he mentioned was his desire to send people out from Haiti to help others, not to just have people comming here. So yes, it is a desprate situation here, but by all means, not without hope.
Back to the goings on. After lunch was done, there was swimming, and napping, and fellowship. Oh, and much to the utter joy of Aimee, there was a shipment of coke and pepsi that came in. After another awesome meal put together mostly by Andrew and Juanita. They have been the engineers of our meals, and we are more than content with the outcome.
This evening brought an opportunity to go to an evening service to the St. Marks' church. Those of us that went were treated to another uplifting experience. There were about 500 people there and were given the opportunity to sing to them. We sang "I Will Enter His Gates". After the clapping, we were treated to the same song, in their native language. At a sharing time last nite, a song was mentioned in relation to the feelings here. "Greater Things Are Yet to be Done". So while you pray for us, our health, our safety, the desperate situation here, remember one thing. There is HOPE!!!!!
For those of you praying for us, we are doing well. Andrew does have a bit of a sore back, and there is a general lack of restful sleep amongst most. We miss you all, but are glad to be here. There are specific spouses and children and parents back home that are missed though. If you have a parent, child or spouse here, know that you are missed. It is hard not to email all of you, but we trust God is taking care of you. We love you.
